One of the most common misconceptions about bodybuilding is that it is entirely an individual sport and that you owe it to yourself to succeed. Of course you have put in a lot of effort in order to get to the place where you are and it is because of this that you will need to make sure that you keep working harder to make sure that you can get the success results that you want. However, there are a lot of individuals who really matter in your journey to success at the gym and it is important that you acknowledge their contribution to your success. Many are those times when you felt like quitting and just giving up altogether but then again you reconsidered your options and realized there was something better to look forward to.
Many are those times when you thought you had hit a brick wall and there was no way through until someone talked you into keeping on, working harder by the day until you one day managed to overcome that plateau in your workout and started to get some results again. These are things that happen to the best of us all, and for the same reason you can rest assured that you will forever be indebted to all those who helped you through. But who are they really?
Your spouse, trainer, friends and colleagues are just but some of those individuals who really made you become who you are today. The spouses in particular bear a lot of the brunt for the hard work that we pack at the gym. When things do not seem to be working out, we tend to boil all that up and when we get home we turn into animals. At times we get so frustrated that we do not even know how to get all that frustration out. However, they somehow always find a way to make sure that you calm down, find the right words to say and make you feel like a human being all over again. All these are some of the things that people who are in our lives go through.
Think of your trainer for example. You have been working so hard at the gym but you have not been able to get some really good results. The reason for this is because you somehow have hit that plateau stage where nothing seems to be happening even though you are spending a lot more time at the gym. However, they have trained a lot of people before, and they are more than capable of understanding what you are going through. They are so patient with you to the point where they make you understand what you are going through, how you can go about it and within a few days you start seeing things happening again. You are so happy you have come thus far, but for you trainer, that was just another day in the life of a personal trainer. It is time we acknowledge the contribution that others have had in our lives, and give them credit for who we are today.
