There are so many things in life that we are not so confident about. When you take some time and look into your life, you will realize that there are a number of things that you could change to make you feel better, but some of them are out of your hands. Making some changes in life can be hard especially when you do not know how to go about it. However, it is always a good thing to learn how to procedurally move from one stage to the other. A lot of people go through life and at some point something happens which changes their perception of life and the way things go on around them. This defining moment comes to people at different times. There are those who get to this moment so early in their lives while there are also others who get this moment so late in their lives. However, irrespective of the same, there are some steps to follow when you want to change your life just the way you want it to be.
The following 6 steps will help you change and turn your life around. This is not just theoretical but it is also a scientific model, the trans-theoretical model
- 1. Pre-contemplation
In this stage you might not really have that intention to change, and as a matter of fact you might even not be aware that there is a need for change. So many people are stuck in this stage, not aware of the dangers that they are posing to their lives.
- 2. Contemplation
In this stage you have become aware of the problem that is at hand, but you do not have any plans of working around a means of changing things. You could be watching a talk show and realize that you have a problem, but unfortunately you do not know what to do about it.
- 3. Preparation
You are now ready to act on the problem. For some people this is the time to go online and read about what they are going through, learn the products available online to help them get through the problem phase and so forth. You can even purchase something that will help you deal with your problem, say a sauna belt.
- 4. Action
This is the stage at which you make significant steps to change. You can now start thinking about eating healthier, going to the gym or other alternatives. At this stage you need to be highly dedicated to the cause for you to see some results. Though a challenging stage, it is no more important than any of the others.
- 5. Maintenance
You have now worked so hard and you are free from the unhealthy behaviour that you had been on before you started changing. The challenge now is to keep working on your new plan in order to maintain your new found form.
- 6. Termination
This becomes harder because you have to deal with the different challenges that you faced before you started to change. If you were a smoker, you now have to deal with the possibility of passing up that smoke, or for a bodybuilder, the ability to pass up that cheesecake.
