A little extra pep in your step with energy supplements
Some days you wake up and you’re ready to conquer the world, other days…not so much. I’m here to tell you that we’ve all been there. But instead of reaching for that 4th cup of coffee, here are a few tips on what you should be looking for when searching for an energy supplement.
Energy supplements are one way to increase your energy levels throughout the day. They can also be good for reducing stress and getting you motivated to workout.
Always read the ingredient list!
Look for supplements that contain some natural ingredients, rather than those that have a high content of artificial flavors. Ingredients such as ginseng and gingko biloba are good for increasing your physical and mental energy. Staying away from artificial ingredients is just one more way that you can enhance your health.
Other beneficial ingredients include herbs and vitamins, including Vitamin B12. If you’re not getting enough B12, you may find that you’re feeling tired and have less energy. Incorporating this vitamin into your day is an excellent way to avoid having to take it in another supplement form. One more ingredient to look for is Rhodiola, otherwise known as golden root. This is a great herb for increasing your energy, particularly right before you’re off for a run or on the way to a Zumba workout.
Know that energy supplements and snacks come in many different shapes and sizes—from the delicious date chocolate balls and energy stroopwafels to some good old-fashioned C4 to add an extra bang to your day.
Make sure that you don’t just rely on energy supplements to improve your health, even though they’re convenient, easy to use, and can be a good way to get you started in the morning. Try to find a good balance in the supplements you use and eating nutritiously. Eating right and being active are just as important when you’re trying to improve your health.
