How I completely turned body fat to hard muscle

I was 31, weighing 132 pounds and felt like I was dragging my weight wherever I went. I made it my life mission to reduce my body fat so that I could get that perfect body shape. Luckily enough for me I had been an active girl since I was a child. At 15 years I was actively lifting weights and participating in sports. My diet was composed of foods that I actually thought were healthy but unfortunately I kept adding on weight over time. I was really determined to start working out as much as I can so I could get into the kind of shape I really desired.

I even decided to sign up for a bikini contest so that I would be able to deal with my weight issue, but little did I know that this would be the challenge of a lifetime. Most of the food that I ate was really junk food, though I always imagined that I was eating healthy. Besides that I had quite a number of food allergies and as a result I decided to stick to gluten free food so that I could manage my allergies and weight at the same time. Interestingly enough, the fact that I purchased food from the local health food store was apparently not enough. The bikini competition ended up being quite the eye opener for me because I was determined to use the food I ate as fuel to increase my rate of metabolism. Losing weight for someone like me was not an easy thing to do, so it was pretty important that I kept it that way.

When I turned 31 I started my own solo competition prep but I was disappointed when I realized that I was not cutting down on either my weight or fat. Still determined not to give up on the cause, I got in touch with NPC competitor Shaunna Marie Fitness, who was also a coach. With only 8 weeks to go, I was afraid of getting on the scale because I knew what would happen. Working with my new coach was one of the most incredible turning points of my life because we crafted a workout regime that was suitable for me. From weights, cardio, balanced meals and Brazilian Jitsu, I was soon losing weight just the way I wanted.

I would be lying if I said it was an easy process, because there were actually days when I did not even feel like I would make it to the gym at all. There were times when I felt like quitting and wondered if I was going about this the right way. Luckily enough for me, I had the best support system so far. I had people who would encourage me to keep going until I reached my goals. I used to look back at how far I had come to get this far, and that was one of the reasons why I never gave up on my dream. Though most of the competitors trained for 12 weeks, I only had 8 weeks within which I managed to lose 118 pounds.
