Bodybuilder and water consumtion

Have you ever wondered why bodybuilders are told that they need more water than any other person? Perhaps it is because of all the hard work that they do when they get to the gym, or perhaps it is because of the fact that they simply need to store more water for use than anyone else. All these are possibilities but as long as you are aware of what you want as a bodybuilder and you know why water is important to you, it will be easier for you to enjoy the fruits of your labour.

One of the main reasons why anyone needs water is because it serves as the most important element in any metabolic process. Therefore without water none of the metabolic processes can be carried out. This also applies when it comes to protein synthesis. Therefore it makes sense for you to make sure that you drink enough water especially when you know the intensity of your training is high enough. Close to or more than 70% of the earth surface is made up of water, and interestingly enough the same proportion also applies to the body. Such is how important water is to you and you should not take this for granted either.

For proper muscle growth, your body needs to ensure that protein synthesis takes place in the most efficient conditions so far. Through protein synthesis, nitrogen which is available in the amino acids will be converted to structural proteins through a host of enzyme activities. Therefore basically protein synthesis is the process through which your muscles grow. If you want more muscle, you have to ensure that you are working harder to make sure that protein synthesis happens faster and more efficiently.

When we talk about water, things like coffee and soda do not count as water. In as much as they are liquid beverages, these do not count as the kind of water that the body needs. Therefore it is important for you to make sure that you drink pure water if you really want to consider yourself to have been drinking some water. Depending on how you condition yourself, getting anywhere between half to a full gallon of water per day is a good statistic for your body. Even though the average individual is normally advised to have 6-8 glasses of water every other day, your requirements as a bodybuilder mean that you need a lot more than this, so this is why it is recommended that you at least have close to a gallon every day if possible.

One of the most important uses of water is that it helps to clean out toxins in the body system, toxins that can be so harmful if they are left in the system far too long. There are a lot of waste products that the body has in the wake of the metabolic activities, all of which are not supposed to be left inside the body. By drinking enough water you will help your system rid itself of these.
